What is the difference between "ON" and "OFF" Airport Parking?

"ON" airport parking is within the airport perimiter fence, whilst "OFF" airport parking is outside the perimiter fence at a location operated by a private company unconnected with the airport.

If you park your car "OFF" airport it will be covered by the parking operators insurance, whilst "ON" airport you will have to rely on your own insurance.
